Links and its types

LINK –

A Link or Hyperlink is a chain that connects pages both within a website and to other websites . It allows you to jump to a new location when you click or tap it .It is a simple means of navigating online contents . It will get us to any part of thehttp://www.wikipedia internet just by clicking on a link , without links we would not have any websites . Link allow us to link documents to other documents or resources . Example- click on any text, image or icon .

ANCHOR TEXT –

It is the visible , clickable text of a link . It is of different color than the surroundings and is important as it tells the reader what to expect when they click on the link . Example – “”TOP “” this anchor text allows reader to return to top of the page .It is the piece of content describing the link . Anchor text describes the article being linked hence increases the chances of being clicked by someone. It is a ranking factor for SEO .

INBOUND LINK –

It is link from other sites that point to our site . It is also known as backlink because it refers back to our site . In bound links are important as they give higher rank in search engine results . High quality inbound links are from authoritative , trustworthy and credible sites . If there are reasonable number of high quality inbound links it increases the traffic on the site .

BACK LINK –

It directs readers from other sites to our own site . It is incoming link from one website to a page or another website . It is important as it transfers page rank value to target page.

Both inbound link and back links are important as they signal that another site finds our content valuable enough to link to it within their own content . This increases SEO value and referral traffic.

OUTBOUND LINK –

It points from our website to another website . It is used to add more context and to link a reader to another source that will add additional and important information to the topic at hand . It is also known as authority link which means to backup information in the articles and link to authoritative sources . Outbound links strengthen topical signals and add value and depth . They also build reader’s trust .

Hence , we need the links to increase the Search Engine Optimization ( SEO ) of our content . It also increases the value of our contents so also the readership. The rank of our content according to the search engine increases with the appropriate use of links .
