You can include a Featured Image on your blog post, as this is going to be useduse as a thumbnail throughout your site where you feature blog posts. There is the option at the bottom of the right-hand column when you are writing your post.

  • Pages

Posts and Pages are two very different elements though they look the same and use the same interface. You write posts as articles on your website and are often time-sensitive. Pages are ‘evergreen’ content. Pages are also what makes up the structure of your site. As such, you need at least one, which is usually a home page or a blog archive. You need not change Pages very often. A page such as About Us, Services, Contact remains static. 

  • Media

Media compliments to your site. Media is your library of images, documents, and other uploaded files. To add a new image, you can click on Select Files. This uploads the file to the media library for you to use in any of your posts or pages. If you’re writing or editing a post or page, and you want to add an image, simply click on the Add Media button above your text editor and select an image from your library or you can upload a new one.

  • Themes

WordPress caters 45k+ free themes for your sites. You can add Photo, carousels, tiled image galleries, maps, form in your  site to look great. With the WordPress Theme Directory, you’ll find plenty of free options and you can preview your site prior to adding it to your site. You can Customize and finally publish with few changes you made. 

  • Plugins

Plugins are like iPhone Apps. Apps are useful to the various functions of your iPhone, in the same manner, WordPress is extensible. You can add custom features to WordPress with the help of plugins. There are over 50,000+ plugins to choose from, so it is easy to add a few too many pages. There are many different companies that provide WordPress plugins to extend its functionality.   • Comments

Comments section liberates you to edit and delete comments. If comments are enabled on your website, this is where you will be able to moderate any comments which are left on your blog posts.

  • Users

From here you can control, add, edit or delete user profiles for your site. If you’re the only one with access, you’ll be the only one listed. If you allow multiple people to have access, they will be listed here along with their role and number of posts written.
